Spartak Moscow has made a bid for Davinson Sanchez worth £12.9 million, which Tottenham has agreed to accept. However, the defender does not want to go for the Russian club.
Since his transfer from Ajax to Spurs in 2017 for a fee of £42 million, the Colombian central defender has played in 205 games for Spurs.
The 27-year-old player is now participating in Tottenham's pre-season tour of Asia and the Pacific.
There have also been rumors that Sanchez is interested in playing for Galatasaray, who reportedly made an offer to sign him in June.
In the 2017–18 Premier League season, Sanchez played a total of 18 games for Tottenham, who ended in ninth place.
When he was introduced to the game against Bournemouth in April as a replacement, Spurs fans jeered him, and they continued to do so when he was removed off the field after only 23 minutes.
In light of Russia's continuing invasion of Ukraine, the Premier League is unable to prevent clubs from conducting business with any Russian side, but it is common knowledge that the league will severely discourage clubs from conducting business with clubs from Russia itself.
Any club that wants to conduct business with a Russian side needs to be certain that neither the Russian side nor the club's source of money has been the target of any sanctions. It is a violation of the law to accept money from any person on the sanctioned list.
In March 2022, not long after the invasion began, the Premier League made the decision to terminate its broadcasting agreement with Russia.
In addition to the Russian national team being barred from competing in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, all of Russia's domestic teams have been disqualified from participating in any UEFA events.
